The Charles Mitchell and George Washington Bush Study on Reparative Action is a state-mandated study exploring the historical injustices of U.S. chattel slavery and its enduring impacts on the direct descendants within Washington State. The research team has been tasked with providing recommendations of remedies that will advance racial equity and develop specific, evidence-based, actionable policies and recommendations for state-level reparative policies and contribute to national discussions on reparations.​
